●  Best of Show - New York State Fair 2009

●  Best of Show - Fine Arts - Professional Category

Catherine graduated at the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts (China) in 1990 with major in sculpting.

After migrating to Hong Kong in 1995, she realized that sculpting was not possible because of the city's limited resources, space and support in the arts arena.  She started focusing on small figurines and  blend the techniques learnt from university and the culture of the East and West that brought her works to new grounds and in sync with the modern society.

Catherine is active promoting her art form in the business sector.  Organizations that she worked with include Virgin Atlantic Airlines, Hermes, Amoy Food.  Projects participated include images for Chinese history textbooks, government project logos, company logos, packaging, etc.

Her focus and efforts in research and development contributed to the breakthrough in the formulation of material that made it easier for the general public to use and be able to stand the test of time.

In 2000, a workshop specializing in her figurine making was setup.  While teaching systematically of this subject was rare in China, classes were organized to suit different people, from hobbyists to professionals in different industries.  Apart from Hong Kong, there are students from Australia, Canada, Japan, China, etc.

In 2002, a series of 4 books were published.  Her exhibitions had been held at the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre, Hong Kong Arts Centre, Times Square, MTR Station, etc and were well-received by the public.

Catherine participated the 3rd China (Tianjin) Folk Fine Arts Exhibition in Tianjin in 2006.  This competition was examined by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).  She was awarded the title of Industrial Artist.  In the same year, she became the member of China Folk Art Artists Association and World Folk Art Artists Association.

Over the years, she has been covered by different media and was named "One of Ten Pair of Hands in Hong Kong" and one of 38 characters chosen whose story was included in the book, Spirit of Hong Kong, to represent the vitality and values of Hong Kong.

In 2007, she was awarded the Golden Eagle Prize which is the first national (Asia Pacific) award to recognize the achievements of folk arts artists.
